This means that the unit will\nproduce a beam that is much like the spot beam itself, with the exception that a percentage of the length of \nthe beam will be reduced in order to provide a much wider beam. Unlike the flood, the modified spot will still \nreach lengths of 1800' + but will have a narrower beam. The approximate beam pattern dimensions are 1700'L X 175'W.\nCommon applications for the HID-X970-M include off road vehicles, heavy duty equipment, boating and marine use, as well\nas various hunting applications.\nThe HID Off Road Modified Spotlight is constructed of heavy duty cast aluminum with a chrome and black finish. The unit \nis completely sealed to prevent water or dust from entering. Typically, 24 volt systems, including most heavy equipment installations, have existing wiring harnesses with toggle switches that are properly rated for these lights. The 12 volt system includes a relay which handles the initial surge (12-13Amps) in 12 volt systems. This surge is not an issue on 24 volt systems.
