These units are constructed of 3 feet of 14\/3 SOOW explosion proof cord and are rated at 20 amps of continuous service. The cord is chemical and abrasion resistant and comes with an inline, 20 amp, GFI protected, explosion proof receptacle with on\/off switch installed on one end and a standard industrial 5-15 plug installed on the other end.\r\u003cbr\u003eThe receptacle`s contacts are deep recessed to avoid accidental contact and will accept standard non explosion proof plugs that are NEMA 5-20R, or 6-20R compatible although explosion proof plugs must be used to preserve explosion proof approval in hazardous environments. Ordinary location plugs will NOT activate this cord`s explosion proof receptacles.\r\u003cbr\u003eThis inline explosion proof tumbler switch is ideal rated for use in hazardous areas designated Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1. This explosion proof switch is rated at 20 amps-120-277 Vac and 1 HP at 120 Vac and 2 HP at 240 Vac. The entire unit is constructed of malleable iron and contains an internal sealing chamber constructed of copper free aluminum. A bushing seal at each conductor opening prevents damage to wiring insulation and a triple coat housing finish provides rugged protection against corrosion.\r\u003cbr\u003eThe plug on this units are of a twist lock design. In order for a secure and working connection to take place, the operator must insert the plug and twist until it locks into place. This ensures a safe seal is made before any sparks from electrical contact can take place. To ensure the highest safety, operators should make connections outside of the hazardous area.\r\u003cbr\u003eInter-Compatibility:\r\u003cbr\u003eThese cords use T style plugs and will work with non-explosion proof standard receptacles and plugs (NEMA 5-15R, 5-20R, or 6-20R) but will not work with standard 120V wall outlets. The included plugs and receptacles are cross-interchangeable with Crouse Hind™ part# ENP5201 plugs and receptacles and Hubble-Killiark part# UGP-20231 ACCEPTOR plugs and receptacles. Any equipment requiring these C-H or H-B plugs should work with these cords.
