This LED beacon is available in a choice of blue, amber or red colors, and includes a permanent mounting system via through holes and self tapping screws. This unit also includes a 1\/2 inch pipe mount kit and embedded threaded pipe mount in the base. This permanent mounting system provides maximum mounting security and reliable performance. \nLED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and\/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. This waterproof and shock resistant beacon has a black injection molded ABS base that mounts with 3 self tapping screws and includes a gasket for positive sealing to the mounting surface. This unit contains a fully potted circuit board topped off with an LED assembly protected by a polycarbonate lens cover that is designed to efficiently distribute the flash over a 360 degree radius. \nThe colors of this unit are produced by color specific LEDs rather than a colored lens. This increases the effectiveness and reliability of the unit as there is no chance of lens discoloration and no loss of output due to lens dissipation.
