Consisting of a sturdy copper free non-sparking cast aluminum body, an impact resistant carbon loaded ABS handset and a durable 6€™ PVC coiled cord, this unit is ruggedly constructed for superior performance in the even the most demanding environments. \nThis explosion proof telephone features a simplified, easy to use design. To call out, operators simply lift the handset and dial the desired number with no additional steps or phone training required. The main keypad features 12 buttons (0,1-9,*,#). A receiver volume button is located beneath the handset. When the handset is unhooked, operators press this button to to increase the volume in 3-dB increments. All keys are oversized to allow gloves-on dialing. Since this unit is line powered, the phone will continue working even if the main power source faults or is disconnected.\nThe NEMA 4X enclosure housing this telephone unit provides protection from the ingress of dust, dirt and fibers as well as resistane against the harmful and corrosive effects of water spray, sleet, snow and rain.
