This unit contains two 70 watt, dual ended, metal halide lamps and is capable of illuminating 14,000 square feet of work space with 11,000 lumens of light. The two 70 watt metal halide lamps on this unit produce illumination equivalent to two typical 400 watt halogen lamps while drawing only 140 watts at 1.1 amps. \nThe metal halide lamps run cooler than 400 watt halogen lamps, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. The explosion proof light fixtures can be removed by releasing the hand knob and sliding the light and mounting bracket off of the quadpod center support while the legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The quadpod affords operators the ability to quickly and securely elevate the lamps, increasing their effective coverage of the work area. The lamps can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position.\nThe lamp housings are waterproof and constructed of thick copper free aluminum alloy, making this unit ideal for use in wet and marine environments. The metal halide lamps provide 14,000+ square feet of coverage with good color rendering and object contrast. \nThis units` lamp assemblies each include a 70 watt metal halide bulb, internal ballast and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of 3\/4\" thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The metal halide lamps have no filament and are thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the tower be knocked over, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. \nThe lamps are rated at 10,000+ hours of life providing longer service life than typical halogen lamps.
