This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.\r\u003cbr\u003ePortable Power Distribution Purpose and Use:\r\u003cbr\u003eThe MGS-2X480.20A-30KVA-2X208.120.3P.30A-6X120.1P.20A portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 208 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect 480 volt line-in power using 20` of #8 Type W cable to two L16-20R receptacles for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, operators connect to two L21-30R receptacles for 208Y\/120V equipment and to six 5-20R GFCI duplex receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are mounted on a backplate and equipped with weatherproof covers.\r\u003cbr\u003eOperation:\r\u003cbr\u003eA 20` #8 Type W cable brings 480V three phase power to the NEMA 3R 60-amp, 480V three phase main circuit breaker panel on the primary side, which contains one 40-amp, 3-pole, 480V breaker and two 20-amp, 3-pole, 480V breakers protecting two 20-amp, 480V, L16-20R receptacles, and passes 480V three phase power to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 30 KVA transformer converts 480V to 208Y\/120V three phase and passes the current a NEMA 3R 125-amp, 208Y\/120V three phase main lug only panel. This secondary side contains two 30-amp, 3-pole, 250V breakers protecting two 30-amp, 208Y\/120V, L21-30R receptacles, and six 20-amp, 1-pole, 125V breakers protecting six 20-amp, 125V, 5-20R GFCI duplex receptacles.\r\u003cbr\u003eProtective Construction:\r\u003cbr\u003eUnlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3\/16\" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center\/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2\" x 2\" x 1\/8\" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs.
